Laforce was niet zo'n veel voorkomende naam in België. Dacht ik. Tot ik aan mijn speurtocht naar de oorsprong ervan begon, door het opmaken van mijn stamboom.
Tijdens mijn zoektocht vond ik heel wat mensen die de naam Laforce of een variante daarvan dragen. Het is onwaarschijnlijk dat het allemaal verwanten zijn. Maar dit uitzoeken maakt genealogie ook zo spannend.
De meeste informatie heb ik eigenhandig in de archieven opgezocht, dus graag een bronvermelding als je mijn werk gebruikt.
Le nom Laforce était à mon idée assez rare en Belgique. Mais j'en ai trouvé un grand nombre de Laforces, qui évidement ne sont pas tous de la même famille. Alors ces pages sont reparties dans une section "famille" où on retrouve mes ancêtres, et une section"Laforce" où on trouve les personnes qui portent ce nom ou des variantes. Les pages sont écrites dans la langue du texte original ou de la personne pour laquelle j'avais écrit le texte. Je ferai un effort de traduction (sur demande).
La majorité des données dans ces pages vient de mes propres récherches dans les archives. Merci de mentioner la source quand vous employez cette information.
I always wondered where my name came from. Only a few Laforces could be found in the white pages. But when I started digging, a lot of Laforces were found. Most of them are probably not related to my own family... at least no common ancestor was found yet...
These pages are in Dutch, French and English depending on the bibliographic sources I used or on the mothertongue of the person for who I wrote the text initially. If you have problems understanding the French or Dutch text, let me know, I'll try to put an English version on the site. But remember: traduttore, traditore....
